About

I am a thirty-something professional who had a pretty normal eating life up until the year I turned 21.  Due to pressures of finishing college and needing to make my own decisions about life, I put on about 60lbs.  I have been in this state since then despite many different dieting tries.

I finally got fed up and decided I wanted to be a normal eating.  No more of this dieting and bingeing stuff.  You can read more details about my epiphany in my first blog post.  I realized that food was not my problem, emotional eating was my problem.  Just monitoring my food intake was only going to make me rebel and also very angry!

So now I am on the journey toward normal eating.  I know it’s different for everyone so I try not to get hung up on having been trying this for a year and seeing no significant changes in my weight.  I have seen a lot of changes in my behavior and my thinking which is truly the first step.  But I have a long way to go.

I am using this blog to track my journey.  Normal eating seems revolutionary but to me it sounds like the most natural thing in the world.  When I first read about it I tried to find timing information or progress information much like what you see in a diet blog, but it’s just totally different.  Maybe someday others will be inspired to give it a try.
